Professional Licensure Disclosures

Licensure Track Programs

The 2019 Department of Education Higher Education Rule 34 CFR 668.43 was amended on October 31, 2023. It requires that Loyola University New Orleans provide published professional licensure disclosures by states for all Loyola licensure track programs regardless of modality. The revised rule goes into effect on July 1, 2024, and requires two state lists:

  1. A list of all States for which the institution has determined its curriculum meets state educational requirements for licensure or certification.
  2. A list of all States for which the institution has determined that its curriculum does not meet state educational requirements for licensure.

All of Loyola’s professional licensure or certification track programs meet Louisiana’s educational requirements for licensure or certification and/or prepares students who graduate to take a Louisiana licensing exam. Determinations outside of Louisiana vary by program. See below to search Loyola’s professional licensure State declarations.

Loyola faculty and staff will make a good faith effort to assist you in ascertaining state licensure requirements and any licensure reciprocity for the State where you are located at the time of your initial enrollment in a Loyola professional licensure program. If you wish to return to your home state or move to another state after successful completion of your degree program and/or obtaining your State license/certification, you will be governed by the professional licensing regulations of the State where you relocate to. You will need to obtain a license to practice in that State.

Relocating during the course of a program to another state may impact state licensure requirements, access to practicums, and/or financial aid. Prior to considering relocation, please contact your program advisor to discuss the potential impact for your individual situation.

The rules also require that Loyola make individual direct written professional licensure disclosures when Loyola has determined that the curriculum DOES NOT meet a State’s educational requirements for professional licensure or certification. These notifications are made via email. For distant education programs, the notifications are made at the time of a potential student’s first financial commitment to Loyola. For on-campus programs, the notifications are made at the time of a student’s initial enrollment as an on-campus-only student studying in Louisiana.

If Loyola makes a determination that a licensure program no longer meets a State’s educational requirements, Loyola will notify the concerned enrolled students within the required 14 calendar days of the institution making that determination.
